About Me…

As an executive-level leader, I have dedicated my career to building inclusive environments, coaching leaders at all stages, creating impactful content, and advancing DEI initiatives. My doctoral research examined the anticipatory and acculturative stress faced by Black female leaders, elevating strategies to mitigate the impact of racialized trauma and racial battle fatigue in the workplace.

I strive to create accessible resources and safe spaces where people can develop skills, overcome obstacles, and embrace their true selves with confidence, integrity, and authenticity. I lead with a liberatory conscious mindset and values-centered perspective. I deeply value words and am very intentional with how I use them to make meaning, tell stories, be a catalyst for intellectual curiosity, encourage personal revelation, serve as a balm of healing, and merge art with scholarship.

I am passionate about promoting empathetic and embodied leadership, guiding individuals to prioritize healing, personal growth, and self-discovery. My mission is to uplift individuals, especially those from marginalized communities, empowering them to live fulfilling and authentic lives.

With over 16 years of experience in the non-profit sector, I most recently served as Chief Learning Officer for an organization focused on racial solidarity, healing, and justice. I am also an adjunct professor, thought partner, and qualitative researcher. Brwn Place was born out of my desire to support Black and Brown women who have experienced workplace trauma due to race and gender, and to help organizations better serve historically marginalized individuals by building healthier, more consciously aware work environments.

Throughout my journey, I've been recognized as an influential female leader, receiving the Greater Cincinnati YWCA Rising Star Award and being part of the Harvard LIFE Convening cohort. I am a TEDx speaker, Social Impact Global Fellow with MovingWorlds, certified Trauma Competent Care trainer, and conference speaker. In 2023 and 2024, I was honored as one of the top 50 women leaders in Ohio by Women We Admire.

My academic journey includes a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Elon University, a Master's in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Cincinnati, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Northern Kentucky University.

I intend to show up in a way that inspires individuals to embrace a liberatory, living, and personal learning journey. I hope to help people understand the value and beauty of leading with both a joy and growth mindset, as we all release the reins of perfection and move toward the freedom of letting failures be renamed and reframed as lessons. Above all, I am a proud aunt, daughter, sister, and friend, who believes in spreading light, laughter, and love wherever I go…Wow, that sounds real cliché lol! But I can honestly say that it is true for me.
